Guest Workshop Prologue! An Introduction to Narrative Improv

Guest Workshop: Prologue! An Introduction to Narrative Improv

Improvised narrative is one of the most rewarding forms of improv for both performers and audiences alike, but oh where to begin!

In this workshop, we will cover the foundations of creating the narrative show, with a focus on exercises you can take to your own ensemble. Concepts covered include: finding specificity in genre, defining protagonists and antagonists, and outlining shape-of-show in a longer format. While this workshop will be geared towards narrative show styles, it will also be useful to improvisors looking to work on pacing and intentionality. Shortform players are especially invited as a complete story can be 90 minutes long or 90 seconds long!
