Kelly Buttermore and Justin Peters are two of America’s top independent improvisers. Veterans of the New York improv scene, for the past decade they have spent much of each year on tour, performing and teaching as their duo FROM JUSTIN TO KELLY at theaters and festivals across the country and around the world. Their signature form is the Walter, a minimalistic monoscene that emphasizes silence, eye contact, and total commitment to the moment. Off stage, they promote a DIY ethos that encourages improvisers to find their own voices and own their own work. Based in New York City, they also spend a lot of time in Florida, where they produce the annual Countdown Improv Festival and are partners in The Commodore, a new comedy theater in Tampa. They probably have shirts for sale in the lobby.

JANZEN MARQUEE — the Rock and Roll Comedian — was always the funniest guy in his guitar class. A one-time master shredder, studio axe god living in L.A. between Hollywood and Sunset, you could always find Janzen soloing down the street. One day, after a long night of trying to teach Slash how to correctly play an arpeggio figure, Janzen stumbled into an open mic and wowed the crowd with his immaculate guitar technique, woven together with Mark Twain–styled bon mot observations about the rock star experience, airplane food, and human nature. Janzen lost his wallet while visiting his rock and roll hometown, San Antonio, so he kinda lives here now until he can find it. Janzen is available for birthday parties, backstage debauchery, and opening spots for stadium shows.

The DNL players are a group of San Antonio-based improvisers, including the team MY 4 DADS (four improvisers who – much like your own father – can take any suggestion and make it much, much worse), BACHELORS OF SCIENCE (DNL’s own WEEKEND SCIENCE UPDATE anchors improvising the stories behind real science headlines they’ve never seen before), and LINDSEY NAVE (hosting the delightful, saccharinely absurd - and Girl Scout approved - interview segment, THE COOKIE JAR WITH JILLIE).
