ComedySportz Auditions this Sunday, December 20

ComedySportz is looking for a few good (and funny) people, and you might be one of them!

It's time for our semi-annual ComedySportz open auditions. We're looking for creative, fast-thinking people who are excited about performing in a weekly live improv comedy show. No acting experience needed - our performers include bioethics professors, restaurant managers, computer nerds, VA workers, and more.

The audition will take you through some improv warmups, games, and excercises, to see how you think on your feet. It will be led by veteran improv performers, who will support you and make it a great experience. So if you've been out to one of our shows and think it looks like fun, done improv in the past, or just like the idea of making it all up on the spot, come out and join us!

If this sounds like fun (and it is), please be at our home base of Acting Up Creative Drama Academy at 2pm on Sunday, December 20th.  Acting Up is located on Bandera Rd, just outside Loop 1604, behind the Falcon Bank. If you hit the Helotes city limits, you've gone too far.

See you there!

ComedySportz Supports Transplants For Children

Last night, ComedySportz San Antonio players were proud to spend time with Transplants For Children, wrapping donated gifts that will go to their children clients and siblings.

Transplants for Children's mission is to assist young organ and tissue transplant recipients and their families in effectively coping with the emotional, financial and social challenges that arise before, during and after transplantation.  Founded in 1986 by ComedySportz player Sharon Sutton and her husband Eric, Transplants For Children provides a needed support system to children underoing this major medical procedure, as well as supporting their families.

We were honored to help support their mission, and will also be donating an improv workshop in January for the children.  ComedySportz also encourages people in San Antonio to check out the wonderful work that Transplants For Children is doing, and to donate time and money to support their efforts.

San Antonio vs. The World on Saturday!

Just in time to work off that tryptophan coma, ComedySportz presents a very special show on Saturday night, November 28th.  No, it's not an after-school special, it's San Antonio vs. The World!

Come out to watch a team of players from your home team, the San Antonio Armadillos, take on a team of great improvisers from both sides of the Atlantic!

Representing San Antonio will be Capt. Jason Lee Boyson, Debbie Basham-Burns, Sharon Sutton, and Erik Collins.  Opposing them in a battle for belly laughs will be Capt Ross Wagman from Manchester UK, Meg Marcotte from Dallas, Will Luera from Boston, and Les McGehee from Austin!  Kim Fox will be the referee keeping order, and Wade Minter will be on the mic as Mr. Voice!

Can the home team defeat that much comedy?  Only one way to find out - come to ComedySportz Saturday night at 7:30pm and cheer on your home team!

ComedySportz performs live, competitive, family-friendly improv comedy with a sports twist every Saturday night at 7:30pm at Acting Up Creative Drama Academy, located behind Falcon Bank on Bandera Rd, just outside Loop 1604.
